Five current, former IDBI staff ‘conspired’ with KFA, says ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has charged that five present and previous financiers with IDBI Bank "intentionally helped and schemed" with the now-outdated Kingfisher Airlines and its executive Vijay Mallya in "tricking" IDBI Bank. The ED has charged that IDBI affirmed the Rs 900-crore advance to Kingfisher Airlines in spite of its frail financials, low FICO assessment and negative total assets. The total assets of the organization was negative at Rs 316 crore as on March 31, 2008 and Rs 3,800 crore as on March 31, 2009, against the qualification standards which required a positive total assets," said the ED chargesheet. 

BBB speaks to normal credit quality, BB remains for frail credit quality, as far as hazard rating. Kingfisher was given a BB rating by the bank. "The (credit) board of trustees, even in the wake of watching that the inadequacies in past assents were all the while winning and M/s KAL (Kingfisher Airlines) was having poor financials, negative total assets and a FICO score of "BB", endorsed the advance by tolerating the hypothecation/task of KAL brand, negative lien on the armada of contract buy/fund rent flying machine, corporate certification of M/s United Breweries Ltd. furthermore, individual certification of Vijay Mallya, director, as security against the credit," said the ED chargesheet.
