PM Modi supports Mohanlal’s Rs-1000 cr Mahabharata, calls it ‘pride of the nation’

As per reports, the film's group will meet the Prime Minister on July 7. 

The news with respect to Modi's letter of support to The Mahabharata group goes ahead the heels of a risk issued by Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi president KP Sasikala. The outfit had declared that it won't permit the arrival of the film unless the name of the film is changed. "We are cheerful yet the Hindus here have a condition – just a film which is near the tale of genuine Mahabharatham composed by Vyasan ought to convey its name. No other motion picture can be named Mahabharatham," Sasikala had said. In the midst of developing fuss to change the name of the film, Shetty supposedly kept in touch with the Prime Minister communicating his worries. On Sunday, in any case, Shetty reported that the film will discharge as Randamoozham, the first title of MT Vasudevan Nair's honor winning novel, in Malayalam. In rest of the world, it will discharge as The Mahabharata. 

In MT's novel, the epic story is described from the viewpoint of Bheema, which will be played by Mohanlal. The film will be made in two sections with an expected spending plan of Rs 1000 center. Each film will be 3 hours in length and will have an enormous star cast and group from around the globe. The shooting of the film, which will be coordinated by Shrikumar Menon, is booked to start in 2018. 

"The venture will go on the floors in Abu Dhabi. I thrived and earned cash in Abu Dhabi, so I need this film initially to be shot in there before we move to different parts of the world," Shetty told media.
