Airbus eyes Dholera and Mundra as Panther helicopter producing base


Expressing that Gujarat is "vital" to executing its India procedure, Airbus Group on Friday said it was investigating Dholera and Mundra as potential locales for setting up a base for assembling Panther helicopters. 

"The province of Gujarat is exceptionally vital to Airbus. Being number one in the simplicity of-working together, Airbus considers Gujarat to be a key in execution of it's India procedure… We are presently teaming up with the state (government) to build up an aviation environment at Dholera," said Ashish Saraf, VP, industry advancement, vital organizations and balances, Airbus Group India Pvt Ltd. Dholera is situated around 150 kilometers from Ahmedabad city and is being created as a Special Investment Region (SIR). 

"We might want to build up a full-line to make Panther helicopters in India. The Naval Utility Helicopter program for which we have proposed the Panther, can make an entire biological community of assembling, gathering, testing, affirmation, fulfillment, conveyance, support and repair update," said Saraf while talking at the conference on Aviation sorted out by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The NUH program includes arrangement of 100 all-climate competent helicopters for the Indian Navy. 

Later talking at the sidelines of the occasion, Saraf stated, "Dholera is one of the destinations we are searching for an assembling base. It is exceptionally appealing for us, the reason being its region to the sea, availability to ports and assembling base. We are taking a gander at the site to set up some kind of assembling. Airbus had marked a MoU with the Gujarat government to set up an "aviation and resistance stop" amid the Vibrant Gujarat 2017 summit held in January. In any case, no points of interest were shared. "Mundra could be another site that we could take a gander at in Gujarat," the authority from Airbus said including that the organization was likewise taking a gander at substitute areas in Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the Panther helicopters. 

Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation who was likewise present at the CII occasion said that he has additionally asked for Airbus to set up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) office at Dholera. "I have particularly requested that Airbus set up a MRO office at Dholera," Sinha said while conversing with media people.
