Celtic straightforwardness to Champions League triumph in Belfast

Celtic beat Linfield 2-0 in the deferred first leg of their Champions League second qualifying round tie in Belfast on Friday.

Scott Sinclair and Tom Rogic scored the objectives in the main half. Celtic, Scottish champions for as long as six seasons, did not take up their portion of tickets for the diversion on account of security concerns, albeit some of their fans were available.

Their help is generally drawn from Glasgow's Catholic people group while Linfield's is predominantly Protestant. The diversion was moved back two days to abstain from conflicting with commemoration festivities of the 1690 Battle of the Boyne by Northern Ireland supporters.

The second leg is in Glasgow next Wednesday and the champs will play Norwegian side Rosenborg or Ireland's Dundalk, who attracted 1-1 their first leg.
